Piraat is a package-conditioned slice of Tripel heaven. Yeast-derived clove and pomme fruit mingle with malt-derived flavors of raisin-studded brown bread slathered with honey.

Slightly amber-colored beer with a full, white head

Colour: straw with a white head
Alcohol by volume: 10.5% – 22° Plato
Aroma: bittersweet and spicy
Flavour: slightly sweet and warm, complex and rich, hop bitter
Finish: hop bitter and long

Secondary fermentation in both the bottle and keg ensures a shelf life of several years with continued flavor evolution.

The strength of this beer takes you on a journey through unique flavors, brewed according to the rich tradition of the brewery. Pirate is a full-bodied balance between sweet and hoppy bitters.

The Van Steenberge brewery created Piraat Ale in 1988 in the wake of the success of its Gulden Draak. Jozef Van Steenberge used the same unique wine yeasts as in Gulden Draak to create a unique, excellent amber beer.

The result is a very drinkable, but strong beer worthy of the name Piraat. Its power takes you on a journey through some unique flavors based on the brewery’s rich traditions. A living beer with a rich past. Set sail!
