Strategie is an evocative Hazy IPA that centers on a lush, sensory journey driven by Strata, Citra, and El Dorado hops. The pour reveals a glowing, opaque straw hue with a dense white head. Intense aromas of tropical mango, crushed pineapple, and bright citrus peel are propelled by a soft, bready foundation of flaked oats. The palate follows suit, delivering a juicy, fruit-forward experience where the bitterness is secondary to the velvety texture. Utilizing a dual-yeast fermentation, this beer offers a complex ester profile that integrates perfectly with the massive dry-hop additions, finishing smooth and remarkably refreshing.
Appearance. Color is a hazy, opaque pale straw with an orange-tinged glow (approx 4 SRM). It features a medium, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and beautiful lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical and citrus notes. Ripe mango and fresh pineapple from El Dorado and Citra are prominent, while Strata adds layers of passionfruit and a hint of dankness. The malt character is low, presenting as clean, grainy, and lightly bready in the background with supportive fruity esters.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with layers of mango, pineapple, and citrus zest. The malt flavor is low to medium, offering a soft, bready profile. Bitterness is restrained and smooth, providing a balanced, off-dry finish. The aftertaste is clean and highlights lingering tropical fruit without any harshness or astringency.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and smooth texture enhanced by the flaked oats. Carbonation is moderate. There is no astringency or harshness, and a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present.
