Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of pineapple, melon, and stone fruit from HBC 1019, alongside the grapefruit and lime zest of Citra. A supporting layer of resinous pine and forest floor from Simcoe is evident. Malt is low and clean, suggesting pale grains and light cracker without significant caramel. Fermentation is clean with very low esters.
Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward with tropical fruit and citrus oils. A clean, firm bitterness (moderate-high) emerges mid-palate, characterized by the resinous and pine needle qualities of Simcoe. The malt flavor is low, providing a neutral bready support. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a lingering, hoppy aftertaste of grapefruit peel and pine resin.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture from high hopping rates. Moderate to medium-high carbonation provides a crisp bite. No astringency or harsh bitterness is present; alcohol warmth is very light and well-integrated.
