This Imperial Stout presents a decadent sensory profile, characterized by its pitch-black appearance and incredible viscosity. The addition of cocoa nibs amplifies the natural roasted character of the base beer, delivering intense layers of dark chocolate and Belgian pralines. A smooth, aromatic infusion of vanilla rounds out the sharper roasted edges, providing a creamy, dessert-like counterpoint to the deep toffee malt notes. At 11% ABV, the beer offers a significant but well-integrated warmth that supports its chewy, full-bodied structure. The result is a harmonious interplay between traditional roasty bitterness and luxurious confectionery sweetness, finishing with a long, bittersweet chocolate persistence.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (SRM 40+). Pours with a thick, dense, deep tan head that shows moderate retention. Distinctive legs are visible on the glass due to the high alcohol content and sugar density.

Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of bittersweet cocoa, dark chocolate, and fragrant vanilla. Strong roasted malt presence provides notes of espresso and charred grain, complemented by secondary aromas of toffee and subtle dark fruits like prunes. The vanilla adds a rich, marshmallow-like sweetness that masks any harsh alcohol sharpness.

Taste. Initial impression is rich and sweet, immediately followed by a wave of dark cocoa and roasted malt. The vanilla and cocoa nibs provide a flavor profile reminiscent of chocolate truffles and pralines. Medium-high bitterness from both hops and dark grains balances the high residual sugar. The finish is long and warming with a lingering taste of dark chocolate and caramel.
