This Hazy IPA, a collaboration between Pinta and Bereta Brewing Co., presents a lush, tropical landscape at 6.5% ABV. The profile is defined by an intensive hop blend of Citra, Simcoe, and Talus, including their concentrated Cryo Hops variants. Citra provides a punchy grapefruit and lime foundation, while Simcoe adds layers of passion fruit and subtle pine. Talus introduces unique notes of dried rose petals and sage, elevating the complexity. The result is a thick yet crisp sensory experience that delivers a smooth, refreshing journey through Romanian-inspired craft creativity, balanced by a soft, bready malt backbone.
Appearance. Color is a pale straw to light gold (3-5 SRM). The beer is opaque with a substantial, luminous haze but remains free of floating particulates. It is topped by a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and beautiful lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring a complex blend of passion fruit, mango, and pink grapefruit. Subtle floral notes of rose and a hint of herbal sage are present. The malt provides a neutral, lightly bready and grainy background, while the fermentation profile is clean with supportive fruity esters.
Taste. The initial impression is a massive burst of tropical and citrus fruit flavor, mirroring the aroma. Hop bitterness is low to medium-low and notably smooth, never harsh. The malt flavor is low and bready, serving to balance the juice-like character. It finishes off-dry and soft with a lingering, pleasant fruitiness and no hop burn.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to a smooth mouthfeel. There is a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth and an absence of any astringency or raw starchiness.
