This Hazy Double IPA, a collaboration between PINTA and Megobrebi, offers a lush sensory tour of Tbilisi. It pours with a thick, opaque texture, radiating intense aromas driven by a complex hop bill of Columbus, Mosaic, Nelson Sauvin, and Motueka. The inclusion of a Cryo Hops and Phantasm blend introduces distinctive Sauvignon Blanc grape notes, amplifying the tropical profile. Expect a burst of passion fruit, gooseberry, and crushed lime over a soft, pillowy malt base. The 8% ABV provides a gentle warmth that supports a saturated hop finish, blending modern thiol-driven intensity with the silky, juice-like mouthfeel typical of contemporary Double IPA interpretations.
Appearance. SRM 5-7. Opaque and hazy straw-gold to light orange color. Topped with a dense, persistent, creamy white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominant tropical fruit notes of mango and passion fruit from Mosaic and lime zest from Motueka. Distinctive white wine, gooseberry, and crushed grape notes from Nelson Sauvin and the Phantasm extract. Subtle dank, resinous undertones from Columbus provide depth against a neutral, bready malt background.
Taste. Vibrant and saturated hop flavors of pineapple, ripe stone fruit, and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. A soft, doughy malt character supports the high hop load. Bitterness is moderately high but remains smooth and well-integrated, lacking any harshness. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering fruity aftertaste and a clean, light alcohol presence.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full to full body with a creamy, soft, and velvety texture. Moderate carbonation. Smooth alcohol warmth is present but restrained, contributing to the beer’s perceived thickness without being solventy.
