This Hazy IPA, a collaboration between PINTA and Hoppy People, presents a luminous and tropical sensory experience. The aroma is dominated by a heavy saturation of Citra hops, yielding intense waves of ripe mango and bright lemon zest. Riwaka adds a complex layer of pungent, dank resin and deep, ruby red grapefruit notes that elevate the aromatic profile. On the palate, a soft, pillowy texture supports lush tropical flavors, while a restrained bitterness ensures high drinkability. The finish is smooth and juice-like, emphasizing the interplay between citrus brightness and earthy, herbal depth without any hop-derived harshness.
Appearance. Straw to gold color (4-6 SRM) with a deep, opaque haze that creates a characteristic glow. Features a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and significant lacing.
Aroma. High-intensity hop aroma featuring dominant tropical mango and sweet orange from the Citra hops. The Riwaka contributes a unique pungent, dank, and resinous character alongside vibrant red grapefruit zest. Background malt is low, suggesting clean, bready notes with light fruity fermentation esters.
Taste. Vibrant hop flavors of mango, pithy red grapefruit, and mixed citrus juice lead the profile. Low to medium-low malt character provides a neutral, crackery backbone. Bitterness is moderate but feels soft and restrained, balancing the off-dry finish. Hop character in the aftertaste is fruity and smooth, lacking any sharp or grassy astringency.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and exceptionally smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate. Displays a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth and a complete absence of harshness or raw starchiness.
