This Hazy Double IPA delivers a dense, saturated sensory experience defined by its heavy-handed use of Citra and Cryo Citra, which project intense waves of pink grapefruit and overripe mango. The addition of Sabro introduces a distinctive creamy coconut and tangerine undertone, while Columbus provides an anchoring layer of dank, resinous pine. The beer presents a substantial, thick texture, reflecting the brewer's intent for a luscious, cloudy mouthfeel that carries the high hop load. The fermentation is clean, allowing complex tropical and stone fruit characters to dominate, finishing with a soft, integrated bitterness and a gentle warmth from its strength.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange (SRM 6-8); opaque and turbid clarity. Features a thick, long-lasting, creamy white head with excellent retention and dense lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward bouquet featuring tropical mango, coconut, and zesty lime. Supportive notes of pineapple and resinous pine are present. Malt is low, offering a clean, doughy, and grainy character in the background. Fermentation is clean with no solventy alcohol.
Taste. Initial impression is a punch of tropical fruit. Dominant hop flavors of citrus zest, mango, and coconut milk follow. Malt provides a low, soft, grainy support. Bitterness is moderately high but remains smooth and well-integrated, lacking any harshness. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering tropical and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full to full body with a velvety, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth is present, without any hop-derived astringency.
