Patience is a monumental Imperial Stout that showcases the profound impact of a thirty-month maturation in Willett Bourbon Barrels. The sensory profile is dominated by a luxurious interplay of toasted coconut and creamy vanilla, which meld seamlessly into the rich, dark-roasted foundation. Deep layers of bittersweet chocolate and espresso are elevated by the complex barrel character, offering notes of charred oak and premium bourbon. The extended aging has smoothed the high alcohol content into a velvet-like warmth, while the decadent sweetness is balanced by a lingering, roasty bitterness. This is a highly complex, viscous masterpiece that rewards slow, sensory contemplation.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). It pours with a thick, dense, deep tan head with moderate retention. The high viscosity and 14% alcohol content are evidenced by prominent, oily legs that coat the glass surface.

Aroma. High intensity and multi-layered. Primary notes of toasted coconut and rich vanilla are immediately apparent, followed by deep bourbon-soaked oak, molasses, and dark chocolate. Subtle esters of black currant and prune emerge as it warms, alongside a refined, spirit-like alcohol presence and toasted maltiness.

Taste. The initial impression is one of decadent dark chocolate and sweet vanilla bean. Mid-palate, the Willett Bourbon Barrel influence introduces charred wood, caramel, and coconut. The malt profile provides a sturdy backbone of roasted coffee and dark fruit. It finishes with a balanced bittersweetness, featuring a lingering warmth and a smooth, woody aftertaste with moderate bitterness.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied, thick, and chewy with a luscious, velvety texture. Carbonation is low, enhancing the creamy mouth-coating quality. A significant, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but remains smooth rather than sharp, reflecting the long aging process.
