PINTA Barrel Brewing

This Imperial Stout offers a profound sensory journey, shaped by twelve months of aging in MGP Rye Bourbon barrels. The pour is viscous and jet-black, releasing a high-intensity bouquet of espresso, bittersweet chocolate, and spicy rye. The dual-origin coconut—raw Indonesian and toasted Sri Lankan chips—creates a layered profile of oily sweetness and toasted nuttiness. Vanilla beans from Uganda, Madagascar, and Vanuatu weave a complex tapestry of floral, marshmallow, and woody sweetness that softens the charred oak. The palate is exceptionally full-bodied and velvety, balancing dark-roasted grains with a smooth, spirit-forward warmth and a lingering, decadent finish.

Appearance. Jet black (SRM 40+). Opaque. Deep tan head with moderate retention and oily lacing; high viscosity visible through prominent legs.

Aroma. High intensity; rich dark chocolate and toasted malt; prominent sweet coconut and floral vanilla; spicy rye bourbon, oak, and caramel; low dark fruit esters of prune and fig.

Taste. Initial impression of bittersweet chocolate and coffee; intense toasted coconut and creamy vanilla; mid-palate reveals spicy rye bourbon and charred oak; moderate bitterness; sweet, lingering finish with cocoa and spirit warmth.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied and chewy; velvety, luscious texture; low carbonation; smooth, noticeable alcohol warmth; slight creaminess from coconut oils.
