On the palate, a gentle warmth from the cinnamon complements the velvety texture, balancing the intense roasted malt bitterness. It concludes with a complex, lingering finish of espresso and dark fruit, showcasing a harmonious, matured character.
Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40+ SRM). Deep tan head with moderate retention and visible legs reflecting high viscosity.
Aroma. High intensity; complex blend of roasted grains, espresso-like coffee, and dark chocolate. Prominent toasted coconut and spicy cinnamon mingle with bourbon-derived vanilla and oak. Subtle vinous notes of plum and raisin are present, supported by a smooth, well-integrated alcohol presence.
Taste. Intensely flavorful; initial impressions of bittersweet chocolate and roasted coffee transition into creamy coconut and warm cinnamon spice. A robust malt backbone provides caramel and toasty depth. The bourbon barrels add caramel and oak, while the Amarone barrels offer a vinous, dried-fruit complexity. Bitterness is firm but balanced by residual sweetness. Long, warming finish with lingering roast and dark fruit.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and chewy with a luscious, velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. Noticeable, smooth alcohol warmth is present without being sharp or solventy.
