This Imperial Stout represents a masterful fusion of depth and decadence, refined by eighteen months in a blend of Heaven Hill Bourbon and Madeira barrels. The sensory profile is dominated by a dense tapestry of American roasted peanuts and rich, dark Hispaniola variety cocoa nibs. On the palate, Sri Lankan dried bananas provide a concentrated, jammy sweetness that intertwines with the vinous, fortified wine character of the Madeira casks. The Heaven Hill barrels contribute a smooth veil of oak and vanilla, tempering the intense roasted malt base. It is a velvet-textured experience where the savory peanut edge perfectly balances the deep chocolate and dark fruit complexity.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40 SRM). Pours with a thick, dense, dark tan head that shows moderate retention, leaving oily legs on the glass as the foam recedes.

Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of dark chocolate, cocoa nibs, and distinct roasted peanut butter. Prominent esters of caramelized banana and dried fruit (raisins, prunes) from the Madeira aging. Background notes of bourbon-soaked oak, vanilla, espresso, and a light alcohol warmth.

Taste. Initial impression is rich and bittersweet, featuring heavy roasted malt, Hispaniola cocoa, and savory peanut flavors. The mid-palate reveals concentrated dried banana and vinous dark fruit. Bitterness is moderate to firm, providing balance to the high residual sweetness and barrel character. The finish is long and lingering, showing notes of charred oak, dark chocolate, and a clean bourbon warmth.

Mouthfeel. Full to very full-bodied and chewy with a luscious, velvety texture. Carbonation is low, accentuating the beer's viscosity. A noticeable, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, with no harshness.
