PINTA Barrel Brewing Fumes is a sophisticated evolution of the classic Grodziskie, merging traditional Polish oak-smoked wheat malt with the complexity of wild fermentation. This solera-blended wild ale presents a delicate balance of clean campfire smoke and bright, lactic acidity. Twelve months in bourbon barrels introduces elegant layers of vanilla and toasted oak without overwhelming the airy 3.6% ABV frame. The sensory journey moves from rustic smoke to a tart, funky finish driven by wild yeast. It is a masterclass in nuance, offering a dry, highly carbonated experience where the smoke is tempered by the barrel's wood character and a refreshing, citrusy brightness.

Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (3-4 SRM). Features a massive, billowy, snow-white head with exceptional retention and intricate lacing. Clarity is brilliant, showing the effervescence characteristic of the base style.

Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Prominent oak-smoked malt provides a clean, campfire-like scent. This is layered with wild fermentation notes: lemon zest, earthy funk, and a light leathery quality. The bourbon barrel contributes subtle vanilla and coconut, while the base wheat malt offers a faint cracker-like backdrop. Hop aroma is negligible.

Taste. The initial impression is a crisp, refreshing tartness. Oak smoke is assertive but refined, never acrid or phenolic. Mid-palate reveals cracker-like wheat and a touch of bourbon-induced vanilla. Fermentation character is complex, showing lemon pith and funky esters. Bitterness is low, allowing the smoke and acidity to define the structure. The finish is bone-dry and very clean, with a lingering smoky-tart aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Very light body with a prickly, highly effervescent carbonation that provides a sharp, cleansing sensation. Alcohol warmth is nonexistent. No astringency or harshness from the smoke; remarkably crisp and quenching.
