Deadspace Opera is an indulgent Imperial Stout that commands attention with its massive, viscous profile. A collaboration between P.i.g.s. and Emperor’s Brewery, it presents a decadent sensory landscape where deep-roasted malts meet the creamy, nutty richness of Peanut Butter. Intricate layers of burnt Toffee Caramel provide a luxurious sweetness, while the floral elegance of Madagascar Vanilla softens the edges of its potent 14% frame. Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). Pours with a dense, dark brown head that shows moderate retention. Extremely high viscosity is evident by thick legs coating the glass upon swirling.

Aroma. High intensity with a complex bouquet of roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Prominent aromas of oily peanut butter and sweet, buttery toffee dominate the foreground, supported by the aromatic, marshmallow-like scent of Madagascar Vanilla. A clean, noticeable alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated.

Taste. The initial impression is of intense, sweet toffee and roasted nuts. The mid-palate reveals a sturdy foundation of dark malt, bringing flavors of bittersweet chocolate and charred grain. Madagascar Vanilla adds a creamy dimension to the finish, which is long, sweet, and warming. Bitterness is moderate, providing just enough structure to support the heavy adjunct load without becoming cloying.

Mouthfeel. Full to very full-bodied with a thick, chewy, and syrupy texture. Carbonation is low, enhancing the beer's luscious and velvety mouthfeel. Significant but smooth alcohol warmth is felt throughout.
