PicoBrew Trip embodies the classic character of a Belgian Tripel, offering a deceptive 9.5% ABV masterfully hidden behind a refined and complex profile. The sensory experience begins with a golden hue and a creamy white head, releasing intense fruity esters and sweet cereal malt notes. As the monastic spirit unfolds, the Belgian yeast strain provides a sophisticated interplay of spicy phenols and citrusy esters, complemented by delicate spicy hop notes. The palate starts with a touch of grainy-sweetness before transitioning into a remarkably dry and clean finish. It is a harmonious ale where the alcohol warmth is integrated, creating a surprisingly drinkable yet diabolical experience.
Appearance. Deep gold color (approximately 6 SRM) with a slight haze. Features a long-lasting, creamy, rocky white head that leaves characteristic Belgian lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity with a complex bouquet of spicy, peppery phenols and moderate fruity esters reminiscent of orange and lemon. Light, grainy-sweet cereal malt character provides a soft foundation, while delicate spicy and floral hop notes emerge in the background.
Taste. Initial impression is intense and satisfying with a soft, grainy-sweet malt flavor. This is quickly followed by prominent spicy-fruity yeast notes. Medium bitterness is accentuated by a very dry, clean finish that prevents any lingering sweetness. The alcohol is remarkably well-integrated and subtle on the palate.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body that feels deceptively light for its strength. High carbonation provides an effervescent, lively mouthfeel. Alcohol presence is smooth and deceptive, providing only a gentle, well-integrated warmth without being hot.
