This decadent Imperial Stout presents a masterful fusion of four stout recipes and intense coffee character. The aroma is reminiscent of a bustling coffee shop, driven by freshly roasted beans and deep chocolate. Aging for up to twenty months in Willet, Dickel 15, Eagle Rare, and Great Wagon bourbon casks introduces a complex layer of smoky oak, vanilla, and winter baking spices. The substantial body is designed to provide a velvety counterpoint to the coffee’s natural acidity, resulting in a harmonious balance. It is a rich, warming experience that showcases the synergy between spirit-soaked wood and roasted malt.

Appearance. Opaque and deep ebony to jet-black in color (SRM 40+). It features a thick, persistent tan to mocha-colored head with excellent retention and significant lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity with a dominant character of freshly roasted coffee beans and dark chocolate. The barrel aging is prominent, contributing notes of smoky oak, vanilla, and caramel from the bourbon casks. Subtle esters of dark fruit are present, alongside aromatic winter baking spices like cinnamon and nutmeg.

Taste. Initial impression is a rich wave of dark chocolate and concentrated espresso. The mid-palate reveals complex barrel-derived layers of charred oak, bourbon, and vanilla. A moderate bitterness from the roasted grains and coffee provides a necessary counterpoint to the high residual sweetness.
