Phantom Brewing Co.’s Alien Abduction is a striking Hazy IPA that beams down a stellar array of tropical and vinous hop characters. Brewed to a robust 7.7% ABV, it unleashes an intense sensory invasion driven by its heavy-hitting hop profile. The inclusion of Galaxy and Vic Secret hops delivers a massive wave of passion fruit and pineapple, while Nelson Sauvin adds a sophisticated touch of crushed gooseberry and white wine grapes. Underpinned by melon and citrus tones from Ekuanot, this juicy beer offers a pillowy, soft malt canvas. It is a wonderfully luscious, tropical experience with a smooth, low-bitterness finish.
Appearance. Glowing, hazy straw to light amber with an opaque, luminous sheen. Features a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with exceptional retention and beautiful, clingy lacing.
Aroma. Intense, layered aroma of tropical and stone fruits. Prominent passion fruit, pineapple, and gooseberry esters dominate, alongside a subtle papaya and lime zest note. The malt character is low, clean, and bready, offering a neutral backdrop that highlights the massive hop presence.
Taste. Begins with a lush, juicy burst of sweet passion fruit, ripe peach, and fresh pineapple, accented by a distinct white wine grape flavor. The hop bitterness is low to medium-low, softly counterbalancing a light, doughy malt sweetness. Finishes clean and off-dry, leaving a lingering, smooth tropical fruit flavor with no harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full, exceptionally soft, and velvety body. Carbonation is moderate and smooth, enhancing the pillowy mouthfeel. Presents a gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth befitting its strength, with no harshness or hop burn.
