Perspective Microbrasserie Supermassif is a vibrant Double IPA that showcases a masterful blend of Bru-1 and Riwaka hops. The sensory experience is dominated by an explosive, candy-like pineapple profile, evoking the sensation of biting into a fresh, juicy slice. This tropical intensity is sharpened by bright citrus notes and an underlying tropical complexity derived from the Riwaka. Despite the bold fruit character, the beer maintains a clean, neutral malt backbone that allows the hop oils to shine. It finishes with a firm, integrated bitterness and a subtle, smooth alcohol warmth, staying true to its strong ale roots while remaining remarkably hop-forward.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper in color (SRM 7–10). Displays a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with excellent lacing. Generally clear, though a very slight, hop-derived haze is acceptable.
Aroma. High-intensity hop aroma featuring dominant pineapple candy notes from the Bru-1, complemented by zesty citrus and tropical fruit accents from the Riwaka. Background malt is low and neutral, presenting as a faint graininess. Fermentation is clean with a very light, smooth alcohol note.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of pineapple and citrus hop flavors. Bitterness is moderately high but well-integrated and smooth. A low, clean, soft malt character provides enough support to prevent harshness without adding weight. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, pleasant hop bitterness and fruit-skin aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, almost velvety texture. Carbonation is medium-high, adding a lively crispness to the palate. A restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present but never solventy or hot.
