Ale 4 º
Pepinum Summer Ale is a refreshing American Wheat Beer that emphasizes a crisp, lean profile tailored for high drinkability. The addition of raw wheat provides a distinct, grainy, and slightly doughy foundation that remains light on the palate. Despite its modest session strength, it presents a hop-forward character with a firm bitterness and a notably dry finish, setting it apart from sweeter interpretations of the style. The fermentation remains clean and neutral, allowing the delicate cereal notes and citrusy hop aromatics to shine through without the interference of heavy esters or phenols, resulting in a sharp, thirst-quenching character.
Appearance. Pale straw to yellow (3–4 SRM) with a brilliant to clear appearance. It supports a large, long-lasting white head with good retention and light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity with a clean, grainy, and bready wheat character derived from the raw wheat. This is accented by moderate citrusy and floral hop notes, with a neutral fermentation profile free of banana or clove.
Taste. Initial flavors of bready and crackery wheat lead into a firm hop bitterness. The hop flavor is moderate, leaning toward floral and citrus notes. The balance is hop-forward for the style, finishing very dry and crisp with a clean, short aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Light body with medium-high to high carbonation that creates a lively, effervescent sensation. No alcohol warmth is present, and the texture is smooth without any detectable astringency.
