Península Travesía presents a unique Spanish Pub Ale interpretation, bridging the gap between a classic Blonde Ale and a crisp, lager-like finish. Despite utilizing traditional English Ale yeast, the cold fermentation process results in an exceptionally clean and approachable profile. Soft, grainy malt notes dominate the senses, reminiscent of fresh white bread and light honey, while the English yeast contributes only the faintest whisper of orchard fruit esters. The hop presence is understated and refined, offering a delicate floral touch that ensures a balanced, refreshing pint. It is a harmonious, easy-drinking beer designed for daily enjoyment with a smooth, medium-light body.
Appearance. Light yellow to deep gold (3–6 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a low to medium-sized white head that shows fair retention.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring a clean, grainy-sweet malt character with subtle hints of bread. The cold fermentation suppresses the English yeast esters, leaving a very low fruity profile. Hop aroma is low, presenting as light floral or spicy notes.
Taste. Initial soft maltiness with flavors of white bread and biscuit. Low fruity esters are present but restrained. Hop bitterness is medium-low, providing just enough balance against the malt-forward start. The finish is medium-dry and clean, with a gentle lingering of grainy sweetness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with moderate to high carbonation. The texture is smooth and crisp due to the cold conditioning, with no significant alcohol warmth.
