Península La Granja is a bright and rustic Farmhouse Ale that showcases 100% Spanish ingredients. The yeast-driven profile is the star, delivering a classic Saison character defined by fruity esters and peppery phenols. A soft malt base of Pilsen and Pale Ale, enriched by malted wheat from Las Grañeras, provides a grainy, cracker-like foundation. The use of local Tradition and Columbus hops contributes a layered earthy, spicy, and subtly resinous hop character. It finishes exceptionally dry and effervescent, capturing the refreshing, artisanal spirit of the style with a distinctive regional touch from the Valle del Órbigo.
Appearance. Pale gold with a slight haze (6 SRM); features a long-lasting, dense, rocky white head that leaves significant Belgian lace on the glass.
Aroma. High aromatic intensity featuring a blend of spicy black pepper phenols and fruity esters like citrus and pear. Hops are moderate, presenting floral and earthy notes from Tradition and a hint of herbal spice from Columbus, all over a low, grainy malt backdrop.
Taste. Initial impression of peppery spice and citrus fruitiness. Low malt flavor with a soft, grainy, and rustic cereal quality. Moderate hop bitterness provides balance, leading into a very dry, clean finish with a lingering spicy and bitter aftertaste.
