This Double IPA showcases the monovarietal intensity of Talus hops, delivering a complex sensory profile of pink grapefruit, dried roses, and pine resin. Fermented with Norwegian Kveik yeast, the beer maintains a remarkably clean yet subtly fruity foundation that allows the hop character to dominate. Expect a bold, high-intensity experience where the resinous and citrus-heavy Talus oils are balanced by a supportive, neutral malt backbone. At 8.5% ABV, it offers a well-integrated alcohol warmth and a dry, lingering finish typical of the style, emphasizing drinkability despite its significant hop saturation and firm bitterness.
Appearance. Deep gold to light copper (8-10 SRM). Clear to slightly hazy with a persistent, off-white, frothy head leaving moderate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of pink grapefruit, citrus zest, and distinct floral hints of dried rose petals. Supportive resinous pine and a touch of tropical fruit are present. Background malt is neutral and grainy. Subtle citrus esters from the Kveik fermentation.
Taste. Bold hop-forward flavors mirroring the aroma: grapefruit pith, pine, and floral sage. Moderately high bitterness that remains clean without harshness. Low, supportive malt sweetness quickly gives way to a dry, crisp finish. Alcohol is present but smooth and well-integrated.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture from hop resins. Moderate carbonation. Gentle, restrained alcohol warmth without any burning sensation or astringency.
