At 7.8% ABV, the beer strikes a balance between intense hop saturation and high drinkability. A clean, neutral malt backbone allows the intricate layers of berry, grapefruit, and dank forest floor to shine. It concludes with a firm, assertive bitterness and a dry finish, epitomizing the bold yet refined character of a modern West Coast powerhouse.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper in color (SRM 7-9). It displays good clarity despite heavy dry-hopping, topped with a moderate-sized, persistent white head that leaves consistent lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma characterized by prominent citrus, tropical mango, and berry notes from the Mosaic, complemented by a sharp, resinous pine and woodsy character from the Simcoe. Malt is low and neutral, providing a light grainy background, while the fermentation profile is clean with a very soft alcohol warmth.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of hop-derived citrus zest and tropical fruit, quickly followed by a strong, resinous pine flavor. The malt character is low and unobtrusive, serving as a soft, clean foundation. Bitterness is high but well-sculpted and free of harshness. The finish is dry and crisp, with a long, lingering hoppy and bitter aftertaste that invites another sip.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture from the hop resins. Carbonation is medium-high, contributing to a crisp delivery. A restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present without being hot or solventy.
