Península Belgian Whisky

Belgian Tripel 9 º 30 IBU
This Belgian Tripel presents a sophisticated evolution of the style, enriched by seven months of maturation in whisky barrels. The beer pours a deep copper, releasing a complex aromatic profile where traditional Belgian yeast-derived spiciness and ripe fruit esters meet the refined influence of charred oak. The whisky barrel aging imparts elegant layers of caramel and subtle vanilla, which seamlessly integrate with the grainy-sweet malt backbone. Despite its high strength, the beer remains remarkably balanced, offering a dry, effervescent finish that masks its potency while allowing lingering notes of toasted wood and peppery phenols to shine through a well-rounded, spirituous character.
Appearance. Copper to light amber in color with good clarity. Displays a long-lasting, creamy, off-white head that leaves characteristic lacing on the glass as it recedes.
Aroma. High intensity and complex bouquet. Moderate to significant spicy phenols reminiscent of clove and black pepper are balanced by ripe fruity esters of pear and dried apricot. The barrel influence is evident through distinct notes of toasted oak, caramel, and a gentle, clean whisky spirit aroma. Malt is light but supportive with a grainy-sweet honeyed character.
Taste. The palate opens with a blend of grainy malt and soft caramel, followed by a surge of spicy phenols and fruity yeast character. Moderate bitterness provides a firm structure, accentuating a very dry finish. Flavors of oak and light whisky are well-integrated, providing depth without harshness. The aftertaste is long and clean, featuring lingering spice and a hint of wood tannin.
Mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with a texture that remains surprisingly light for the gravity. High carbonation contributes a lively, effervescent quality. A noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth is present, though never hot or fusel, lending a sophisticated creaminess to the finish.
