Arctic Memories is a powerful West Coast Double IPA designed for winter warmth, balancing its 8.2% ABV with a punchy hop profile. The appearance is brilliant and golden, leading into an intense sensory experience driven by a specific hop quartet. Columbus provides a deep, resinous dankness, while Simcoe adds sharp layers of pine and citrus. These are brightened by the classic floral and grapefruit notes of Cascade, while Strata introduces a modern edge of tropical passion fruit. The malt presence remains neutral and supportive, ensuring a clean, dry finish that emphasizes a firm, lingering bitterness perfectly suited for rich holiday pairings.
Appearance. Gold to light copper (SRM 7-10) with brilliant clarity. It supports a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves intricate lacing as it recedes.
Aroma. High-intensity hop aroma featuring prominent resinous pine, grapefruit, and floral notes. Subtle tropical fruit esters of passion fruit and strawberry emerge alongside a dank, herbal quality. The malt is neutral, clean, and grainy, with a soft, well-integrated alcohol presence.
Taste. An immediate, assertive hop flavor mirrors the aroma with layers of citrus, resin, and tropical fruit. The bitterness is high but smooth, lacking harshness. A low, clean malt character provides a soft backbone without adding sweetness. The fermentation is clean, leading to a dry finish with a long, hoppy, and bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crisp sensation. A light, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, with no hop-derived astringency.
