Península / Gross Reverse Psychology
This collaborative Double IPA delivers a vibrant sensory experience centered on its intensive Double Dry Hopped character. It pours a deep gold with a slight, modern haze and a persistent off-white head. The aroma is high-intensity, saturated with tropical fruit, citrus zest, and a touch of resinous pine, all supported by a clean, neutral malt backbone. On the palate, a firm but smooth bitterness balances flavors of passion fruit and grapefruit, leading into a crisp, dry finish. At 8% ABV, the beer exhibits a well-integrated, restrained alcohol warmth and a medium body that ensures high drinkability despite its powerful hop-forward profile.
Appearance. Deep gold to light copper (8 SRM) with a slight haze characteristic of modern DDH versions. Topped with a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves consistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of tropical fruit, crushed pineapple, and bright citrus. Supported by a clean, neutral, grainy malt character and very low fruity esters with a subtle, clean alcohol presence.
Taste. Strong hop flavors of citrus peel and tropical fruit dominate the initial impression. Moderately high bitterness is firm but smooth, lacking harshness. Clean, low malt character provides a soft foundation without caramel sweetness. Finishes dry to medium-dry with a lingering, resinous hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is medium-high, contributing to a crisp mouthfeel. A light, restrained, and smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated.
