Orso reimagines the classic German Pils through a modern lens, balancing European tradition with the bold aromatics of American hops. A brilliant straw pour releases a vibrant bouquet where the signature Strata hops offer layered notes of passion fruit, fresh strawberry, and a distinctive herbal dankness. This hop intensity rests atop a delicate, cracker-like foundation of Pilsner malt. The palate is defined by a firm, clean bitterness and a lean, highly attenuated body that drives a bone-dry finish. Refreshing and sharp, it captures the crisp, refreshing soul of a lager while showcasing the citrus and tropical complexity of West Coast influence.
Appearance. Straw to pale gold (2–4 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a tall, creamy, long-lasting white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Moderately high hop intensity featuring notes of passion fruit, grapefruit, and a touch of dank herbs from the Strata dry-hopping. Supporting this is a low, clean, grainy-sweet malt character reminiscent of fresh crackers. Fermentation is exceptionally clean with no esters or diacetyl.
Taste. Initial impression is crisp and hop-forward. Prominent flavors of tropical fruit and citrus peel are quickly met by a assertive, medium-high bitterness. The malt profile is light and bready, providing just enough structure to support the hops without adding sweetness. The finish is very dry and clean, with a lingering, pleasant bitterness and a hint of flinty minerality.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a crisp, effervescent mouthfeel. High carbonation enhances the refreshing quality. No alcohol warmth is present, and the finish is clean without astringency.
