Parrotdog Lager
Parrotdog Lager is a clean and refreshingly uncomplicated American Lager that highlights the unique character of New Zealand’s Green Bullet hop. It pours a brilliant pale straw with a refined, neutral malt profile featuring subtle grainy sweetness and a hint of corn. The addition of Green Bullet hops provides a distinctive but delicate spicy and floral aromatic layer that persists through the palate. Exceptionally crisp and well-attenuated, this lager offers a snappy carbonic bite and a bone-dry finish. The balance is expertly poised between light malt undertones and a soft, thirst-quenching bitterness, resulting in a bright, highly drinkable experience.
Appearance. Pale straw color (2-3 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a white, frothy head that has moderate to low persistence and leaves minimal lacing.
Aroma. Low intensity aroma with a clean fermentation profile. Subtle grainy-sweet malt notes are present alongside a light floral and spicy hop character derived from the specialty hops. Very low levels of corn-like DMS are acceptable and noted.
Taste. The palate is relatively neutral and crisp with a low grainy malt flavor. The hop flavor is moderately low, displaying a light herbal and spicy quality. Bitterness is low, providing just enough structure to balance the slight malt sweetness. The finish is very dry and clean with a short, refreshing aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with very high carbonation that creates a noticeable carbonic bite on the tongue. Smooth and crisp with no alcohol warmth or astringency.
