Imperial IPA 8 º
Super Nova is a powerful Double IPA that delivers a celestial explosion of hop saturation. Building on a clean, pale malt base, the beer features an intense hop profile driven by Mosaic and Simcoe, which provide deep notes of tropical passionfruit and earthy pine. Complementary additions of Cascade and Amarillo introduce bright layers of juicy peach and citrus zest, creating a complex, multi-dimensional character. The experience is defined by a massive burst of dank hoppiness that remains smooth on the palate, finishing with a firm bitterness and a dry, crisp exit that belies its significant strength.
Appearance. Pours a deep gold to light orange-copper with moderate clarity and a faint, lingering haze. Topped by a dense, persistent, off-white head that leaves intricate lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of passionfruit, ripe peach, and citrus peel. Secondary layers of resinous pine and a signature dankness are supported by a neutral, slightly grainy malt background and very low fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a saturated wave of hop flavors, echoing the passionfruit, stone fruit, and pine found in the aroma. Moderately high bitterness is present but well-integrated and never harsh. The malt character is clean and unobtrusive, providing a soft foundation that allows the hops to lead. Finishes dry with a lingering, resinous hop aftertaste and a clean fermentation profile.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate to high, providing a lively lift. A subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present without being hot or solventy, and there is no hop-derived astringency.
