Galactic Ghost is a cosmic evolution of the classic Double IPA, delivering an intense, interstellar sensory experience. A massive double dry-hop addition of Galaxy, Citra, and Strata creates a layered profile of juicy passionfruit, ripe pineapple, and vibrant citrus. The Galaxy hops contribute deep notes of stone fruit and bright citrus, while Citra provides its signature mango punch. Strata rounds out the profile with a dank, fruity complexity and a touch of resinous depth. Despite its 8% ABV, this beer remains remarkably balanced and smooth, offering a soft, big-bodied mouthfeel and an electric hop presence that transcends the ordinary tropical profile.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange (7-9 SRM). Opaque and heavily hazy. Large, creamy, off-white head with excellent retention and thick, persistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Explosive tropical fruit notes of passionfruit, mango, and pineapple. Secondary notes of peach, grapefruit, and a distinct dank, resinous undertone. Malt is very low and neutral, providing a clean, grainy backdrop.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit and electric citrus. Pronounced flavors of ripe mango, passionfruit, and stone fruit dominate. Low, soft, neutral malt character provides necessary support without sweetness. Bitterness is firm and assertive but smooth and devoid of harshness. Finishes medium-dry with a lingering, resinous, and fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, plush, and creamy texture. Moderate carbonation. Alcohol presence is noticeable but well-integrated, providing a gentle warmth. No hop-derived astringency.
