Bourbon County Brand Barrel Aged Stout 2023:Nadat we de allereerste bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout hadden gemaakt, hebben we geleerd dat je voor het beste bier moet beginnen met de best mogelijke ingrediënten. Vaten zijn zo'n belangrijk ingrediënt en we blijven alleen het beste gebruiken dat onze vrienden op de bourbonroute te bieden hebben.
Bourbon County Original Stout is gerijpt in een mix van vers geleegde bourbonvaten van Buffalo Trace, Heaven Hill, Four Roses en Wild Turkey distilleerderijen.
Original is gemiddeld 12 maanden gerijpt in vaten en heeft diep ontwikkelde smaken van fudge, vanille en gekarameliseerde suiker met een rijke, decadente mondgevoel.

Bourbon County Brand Stout 2021 van Goose Island is waarschijnlijk het meest populaire barrel aged bier ter wereld. Dat komt doordat zij ooit begonnen zijn met het serieus vatrijpen van bieren op whiskyvaten. Vroeger werd bier wel opgeslagen in houten vaten, maar dat werd niet gedaan voor de smaak die het vat afgeeft. Goose Island heeft hun bier destijds gerijpt op Maker's Mark bourbon vaten omdat andere bourbon leverancier hun vaten niet wilden afstaan. Tegenwoordig zullen dat allerlei vaten zijn. Het bier is mooi geroosterd van karakter en rijk van smaak met veel vanille en bourbon tonen. De afdronk blijft lang hangen en hij is zoet zonder te zoet te zijn. Echt een prachtig barrel aged bier! Barrel-aged for a year to develop the complexity that only time can provide, Bourbon County Stout boasts a unique blend of flavors such as fudge, vanilla and caramel — topped off with a rich, complex mouthfeel. Bourbonvaten Het unieke profiel van Bourbon County Brand Stout wordt toegeschreven aan twee factoren: de Bourbon-vaten en het rijpingsproces. Elk jaar ontvangt de Goose Island Chicago Brewery een mix van verse Bourbon-vaten, rechtstreeks van distilleerderijpartners. De Original Bourbon County Brand Stout 2021 wordt gerijpt in een mix van bourbonvaten van Buffalo Trace, Heaven Hill Distillery en Wild Turkey.
