Pühaste Brewery Vool
Vool presents a vibrant sensory profile typical of a modern Hazy IPA, driven by a lush trio of Nelson Sauvin, Citra, and Simcoe hops. The experience begins with a massive aromatic bouquet of white wine, crushed gooseberry, and bright lime zest. On the palate, the juicy character is amplified, delivering layers of tropical passion fruit and sweet grapefruit juice supported by a delicate, bready malt backbone. Its hallmark softness creates a pillowy texture that carries these intense hop flavors through a smooth, off-dry finish. The bitterness remains restrained, allowing the nuanced, vinous notes of the Nelson Sauvin to shine against a backdrop of citrus-forward complexity.
Appearance. SRM 4-6; glowing straw to light orange color with a characteristic opaque haze. Topped with a dense, rocky, white meringue-like head that shows excellent retention and leaves thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring white wine grapes, gooseberry, and lychee from Nelson Sauvin, paired with the pungent grapefruit and lime of Citra. Hints of passion fruit and light resin from Simcoe provide depth. Malt is low and neutral-bready; fermentation is clean with subtle fruity esters.
Taste. Explosive hop flavors of tropical fruit, white currants, and zesty citrus. The malt provides a low, grainy, supportive sweetness. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as low due to the soft water profile and full body. The finish is smooth and juicy with a lingering lime and berry aftertaste, devoid of any hop harshness or astringency.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably soft, plush mouthfeel. Carbonation is moderate. There is no alcohol warmth, harshness, or raw starch texture, resulting in a smooth and creamy sensation.
