Pikne is a vibrant West Coast-influenced German Pils that bridges the gap between European tradition and modern American aromatics. A lean malt base providing notes of toasted cracker and doughy sweetness serves as a clean canvas for a bold hop trio of Citra, Strata, and Bobek. These varieties infuse the profile with bright layers of citrus zest, passion fruit, and a refined herbal spice. The beer remains brilliantly clear and highly carbonated, delivering a sharp, refreshing bitterness and a bone-dry finish that honors the style’s crisp structural roots while showcasing contemporary hop intensity.
Appearance. Straw to deep yellow (SRM 3-4); brilliant clarity with a dense, creamy, long-lasting white head that leaves significant lacing.
Aroma. Moderately high hop intensity featuring grapefruit and lime from Citra, tropical passion fruit from Strata, and a spicy, herbal undertone from Bobek. Low grainy-sweet malt character with a hint of fresh dough; exceptionally clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression is crisp and hop-forward, with flavors of citrus peel, tropical fruit, and dried herbs. A light, toasted cracker malt presence provides support without adding weight. Firm bitterness (estimated 35-40 IBU) quickly overtakes the malt, leading into a very dry, clean, and lingering bitter finish.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation that provides a prickly, refreshing scrub on the palate. Very light alcohol warmth from the 5.7% ABV, though it remains smooth with no astringency.
