Pühaste Mumm is a decadent, high-gravity Experimental Mead matured in Rye Whiskey barrels, resulting in a complex and luxurious sensory profile. The honey's natural floral and earthy sweetness is profoundly elevated by the spicy, peppery character of the rye whiskey grain. A significant 17% ABV provides a deep, radiating warmth that integrates seamlessly with the charred oak and vanilla notes derived from the wood. This mead exhibits a syrupy viscosity that coats the palate, offering a sophisticated balance between rich, lingering honey sugars and the drying, tannic structure of the barrel. It is a bold, slow-sipping expression of craft fermentation and barrel aging.

Appearance. Deep amber to rich copper (15-20 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a high-viscosity appearance that leaves thick, slow-moving legs on the glass. Completely still with no foam or carbonation.

Aroma. High intensity. Dominant floral honey sweetness layered with distinctive spicy rye whiskey notes, toasted oak, and a hint of vanilla. A clean, warming alcohol presence is prominent but well-integrated, lacking any harsh solvent notes.

Taste. Initial impression is intensely sweet and honey-forward, followed immediately by a sharp, spicy bite from the rye whiskey barrel. No hop bitterness or hop flavor is present. The fermentation character is clean, allowing the oak tannins and wood-derived caramel to provide structure. The finish is long and warming, with a lingering honey-and-whiskey aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and highly viscous with a syrupy, mouth-coating texture. Carbonation is absent (still). Significant alcohol warmth is perceived but remains smooth. A light tannic astringency from the oak provides a necessary counterpoint to the body.
