This high-gravity American IPA delivers a vibrant, juicy profile driven by expressive Kveik fermentation and a massive double dry hop addition. The sensory journey is dominated by a complex tropical bouquet featuring Nelson Sauvin, Idaho 7, El Dorado, and Vic Secret. Expect bold notes of crushed white grape and gooseberry from the Nelson Sauvin, paired with the ripe pineapple and watermelon characteristics of Idaho 7 and El Dorado. Vic Secret adds a touch of passion fruit and resinous depth. The Kveik yeast provides a subtle citrusy ester backbone, supporting the punchy hop finish and supporting malt in this modern collaboration.
Appearance. Deep gold to light amber (8-10 SRM). Thick, persistent off-white head with dense lacing. Noticeable haze from heavy dry-hopping, though not fully opaque.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma. Prominent notes of gooseberry and white wine grapes, followed by layers of pineapple, melon, and passion fruit. Low, bready-grainy malt sweetness. Subtile orange-like esters from Kveik fermentation and a clean, fleeting alcohol warmth.
Taste. Initial burst of tropical fruit including pineapple and stone fruit. Mid-palate reveals distinct Nelson Sauvin grape character and Idaho 7 resinous pine. Low grainy malt sweetness provides a neutral foundation. Bitterness is medium-high and firm but smooth. Finishes medium-dry with a lingering aftertaste of tropical fruit and hop resins.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Medium-high carbonation. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth consistent with its strength. No harshness or hop-derived astringency.
