Crimson Veil is a complex Wild Specialty Beer that masterfully integrates tart orchard fruit with earthy, wood-fired sweetness. It presents a striking, deep ruby-to-purple hue, indicative of its heavy fruit load. The sensory profile is dominated by the sharp, acidic punch of blackcurrant and the bright, stone-fruit tang of cherries. These bold fruit notes are tempered by the rich, savory undertones of maple syrup, which provides a textural weight and aromatic depth rather than cloying sweetness. The wild fermentation lends a refreshing lactic acidity and a subtle funk, creating a vibrant, multi-layered experience that balances intense fruit-driven tartness with a rounded, velvety finish.

Appearance. Deep crimson to dark purple (25–35 SRM); intense pink-to-red tinted head with moderate retention and light lacing. Opaque to hazy appearance due to the density of the fruit additions.

Aroma. High intensity aromatics of tart red cherry and earthy blackcurrant. A subtle underlying maple sweetness provides a caramel-like depth without being sugary. Noticeable lactic tartness and a light wild funk (lemon zest, hay). Hop aroma is absent; malt character is masked by the fruit and specialty ingredients.

Taste. Initial sharp tartness from fruit acids. Bold, authentic flavors of blackcurrant skin and juicy cherry prevail. The maple syrup contributes a woody, savory richness that softens the acidity on the mid-palate. Hop bitterness is very low. The finish is dry and acidic with a lingering, tannic fruit-skin character and a persistent earthy maple note.

Mouthfeel. Medium body, slightly fuller and more viscous than a standard wild ale due to the maple syrup and fruit solids. Moderate carbonation. Very low alcohol warmth at 6.5%. Mild astringency from fruit skins provides a structured, drying sensation.
