Utopia presents a lush, sensory journey through a sun-drenched orchard. This Double IPA is defined by a saturated hop profile featuring an intense trio of El Dorado, Mosaic, and a foundational layer of Citra. Expect a vibrant explosion of stone fruit and ripe melon from the El Dorado, while Mosaic contributes tropical berry notes. While the brewer describes a thick and creamy texture, it remains rooted in the style’s power, delivering a smooth yet firm bitterness. The addition of El Dorado Cryo ensures a concentrated essence of pineapple, while the Citra provides a bright, citrusy lift of grapefruit, culminating in a complex, fruit-forward finish.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (8-10 SRM). Features a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head with excellent lacing. Displays a slight, protein-rich haze consistent with heavy dry-hopping.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical fruit (pineapple, mango), stone fruit (peach), and distinct berry notes. Foundational citrus scents of grapefruit and lime are present. Malt character is very low, neutral, and grainy. Clean fermentation profile with light fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit juice and citrus. Hop flavor is strong and complex, featuring melon, berry, and grapefruit. Bitterness is moderately high and firm but remains smooth and integrated. Low, clean, supportive malt character. Finish is medium-dry with a lingering hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notably smooth and creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Contains a restrained, smooth alcohol warmth. Devoid of harsh hop-derived astringency.
