Triumphant is a modern American IPA that showcases the innovative Triumph hop variety alongside the classic resinous depth of Columbus. It pours with an inviting softness provided by the addition of oats and wheat to the barley base. The sensory experience is defined by intense stone fruit and citrus, specifically bright peach and zesty lime, complemented by unexpected notes of sweet bubblegum and juicy orange. A subtle undercurrent of pine provides a classic counterpoint to the vibrant fruitiness. The finish is clean and decidedly hoppy, striking a harmonious balance between contemporary fruit-forward aromatics and a firm, refreshing bitterness.
Appearance. Medium gold with a soft, light haze from the wheat and oats. Topped by a persistent, creamy white head that leaves significant lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop-forward bouquet featuring stone fruit esters of peach and sweet orange. High citrus notes of lime zest are layered over a unique bubblegum sweetness and a background of dank, resinous pine. Low, grainy-sweet malt character provides a clean foundation.
Taste. Bold hop flavors mirror the aroma, leading with succulent peach and tropical citrus. The mid-palate reveals a more traditional pine and spicy earthiness. A firm, clean bitterness cuts through the initial fruity sweetness, leading to a dry and crisp finish. The malt is supportive and slightly bready without being heavy.
