Overtone Brewing Co

Space Age is an intense Double IPA that pushes modern hop character to the forefront. The aroma is a saturated explosion of tropical fruit and dank resin, driven by a potent combination of Citra Cryo and Simcoe Cryo. Layers of white wine grapes from Nelson Sauvin and ripe strawberry notes from Strata provide a complex, multifaceted fruit profile. On the palate, a clean, neutral malt base supports a firm, assertive bitterness that never becomes harsh. The experience concludes with a dry, lingering finish of pine and grapefruit zest, making this high-gravity collaboration surprisingly drinkable and exceptionally vibrant.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-9 SRM). Pours with a slight haze consistent with heavy dry-hopping, topped by a moderate, persistent off-white head that leaves intricate lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of passion fruit, grapefruit, and crushed white grapes from Citra Cryo and Nelson Sauvin. Secondary notes include resinous pine and dank herbal qualities from Simcoe Cryo and Strata. Malt is low and neutral, providing a clean, grainy backdrop with a very light hint of smooth ethanol.

Taste. Initial hop-forward impact of tropical fruit and citrus. Malt flavor is low, suggesting clean cracker and light bread. High bitterness provides a structural backbone without being astringent. Hop flavors mirror the aroma with prominent mango, berry, and pine. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a long, resinous aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Moderate carbonation. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth that enhances the hop oils. No significant hop-derived astringency.
