Overtone Brewing Co

This Belgian Single is a highly sessionable monastic table beer that bridges the gap between traditional yeast character and contemporary hop intensity. Distinctive aromas of mango and lychee driven by Citra and El Dorado hops dominate the initial impression, while Nelson Sauvin contributes a sophisticated white wine finish. The sensory profile is supported by a grainy-sweet malt base that provides a crackery foundation for the peppery Belgian yeast phenols. Despite the low ABV, Topaz hops provide a subtle spice that enhances the firm bitterness, leading into a bone-dry, highly carbonated finish that remains crisp and incredibly refreshing.

Appearance. Pale gold (4 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a moderate-sized, persistent, billowy white head that leaves characteristic lacing on the glass.

Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Pronounced tropical notes of mango, lychee, and gooseberry are prominent. A spicy Belgian yeast character provides notes of black pepper and light clove, supported by a low, crackery, honeyed malt backdrop.

Taste. Initial flavors of honeyed biscuit and soft grain give way to a crisp, hoppy-bitter profile. Significant tropical fruit and white grape hop flavors are balanced by peppery phenols. The finish is very dry and highly attenuated, with a lingering bitterness and fruit character into the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Light to medium-light body with high, somewhat prickly carbonation. Very smooth and refreshing with no detectable alcohol warmth.
