This Double IPA delivers a lush, tropical sensory experience, driven by a heavy double dry-hop addition of Sabro and Citra. The aromatic profile is dominated by distinct coconut and cream notes from the Sabro, which are brightened by the lime and grapefruit zest of Citra. It evokes a tropical paradise with flavors reminiscent of a pina colada, where pineapple and stone fruit meld into a soft, supportive malt base. Despite its strength, the beer maintains a clean profile, balancing its significant alcohol content with a vibrant, fruit-forward complexity and a smooth, lingering finish that highlights the unique synergy of its modern hop varieties.
Appearance. Light orange-gold (8 SRM) with a moderate haze. Features a large, persistent, creamy white head with dense lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent coconut, cedar, and tropical cream notes layered over pineapple, mango, and tangerine. Malt is neutral and grainy in the background, with a clean fermentation profile and a light hint of smooth alcohol.
Taste. Initial burst of tropical fruit and sweet cream. Intense hop flavors of coconut and pineapple are balanced by a firm but smooth bitterness (~70 IBU). The malt character is clean and unobtrusive, providing a soft, bready support. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering aftertaste of citrus peel and coconut.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Moderate carbonation. Displays a restrained, well-integrated alcohol warmth without any harsh hop-derived astringency.
