This Double New England IPA is a vibrant sensory showcase of the Citra hop, utilized in leaf, pellet, and incognito forms to deliver an impressive aromatic impact. The profile is defined by a saturated intensity of bright citrus and lush tropical fruit, specifically notes of squeezed lime, mango, and passionfruit. As a modern Double IPA, it balances a substantial 8% ABV with a remarkably smooth, full-bodied presence. The clean, neutral malt backbone provides a soft platform for the hops to dominate, resulting in a complex yet drinkable ale that highlights Overtone’s focus on hop-forward intensity and Scottish craftsmanship.

Appearance. Ranging from pale gold to light orange-copper (7-10 SRM). Features a prominent, hazy opacity consistent with the New England style, topped by a persistent, creamy white head with excellent lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by Citra. Pronounced notes of grapefruit, lime zest, and pineapple are layered over a secondary tropical profile of mango. Malt remains clean and neutral with a faint grainy sweetness, while fermentation esters provide a light, supportive fruitiness.

Taste. An initial explosion of citrus and tropical fruit flavors follows the aroma. Hop bitterness is moderately high but remains smooth and devoid of harshness. The malt character is low and soft, providing a clean, unobtrusive base. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, pleasant citrus aftertaste and very low alcohol flavor.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to a creamy mouthfeel without any hop-derived astringency. A restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated.
