Juxtaposed is a modern Hazy IPA that masterfully balances lush sweetness with a sharp, hop-driven edge. Brewed in collaboration with Yakima Chief Hops, it showcases a complex profile of Citra, Superdelic, Nelson Sauvin, and Nectaron. The sensory experience is dominated by an explosion of tropical and stone fruit, paired with a distinct Nelson Sauvin-driven white grape character and a resinous, dank undertone. This 7.3% ABV ale offers a vibrant, juicy character with a soft, pillowy texture that remains remarkably drinkable. Notes of passion fruit and citrus zest from the Citra and Nectaron mingle with a bready malt backbone, leading to a smooth finish.
Appearance. Deep straw to gold (4-6 SRM). Opaque and hazy with a luminous shine. Persistent, thick, white meringue-like head with dense lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominant notes of passion fruit, peach, and candied citrus are complemented by crushed gooseberry and white wine character. A notable resinous dankness and subtle berry-like esters emerge in the foreground. Background malt is lightly bready and neutral.
Taste. Massive tropical fruit flavors, specifically mango and stone fruit, followed by a sharp citrus-rind bite. The hop profile provides a drying white grape edge and red fruit complexity. Bitterness is moderate and soft, lacking any harshness. Malt is light and crackery, supporting the hop saturations. Finish is off-dry and clean with a lingering fruity resonance.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present. No astringency or hop burn.
