This Dunkles Bock pays homage to the style’s origins with a deep focus on German barleys, delivering an inviting profile of toasted bread and rich Maillard products. The aroma is dominated by Munich malt character, featuring layers of crusty bread and a subtle hint of caramel. While Hallertau Blanc hops are utilized, they remain secondary to the malt, providing a clean balance against the 6.3% ABV. On the palate, expect a velvety, medium-full body with flavors of toasted grain and light dark fruit, leading to a smooth, well-attenuated finish that avoids cloying sweetness while celebrating traditional lager craftsmanship.

Appearance. Dark copper to mahogany brown (SRM 16-20) with attractive garnet highlights. Pours with a large, creamy, and persistent off-white head. Clarity is brilliant despite the deep color.

Aroma. Medium-high intensity featuring rich bready and toasty-malty aromas. Prominent Maillard products suggest toasted bread crusts and dark caramel. Hop aroma is very low, offering a faint floral hint from the Hallertau Blanc. Fermentation is clean with a whisper of dark orchard fruit esters.

Taste. Deeply malty and complex initial impression. Rich flavors of toasted Munich malt and light caramel dominate the mid-palate. Hop bitterness is moderate-low, providing just enough support to balance the malt without being distinct. The finish is smooth and clean, showing lingering toasty grain notes without any roasted or burnt harshness.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably smooth, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present. Entirely free of astringency or harshness.
