This celebratory Imperial Stout pours like liquid velvet, immediately releasing a dense bouquet of rich cacao and floral Scottish honey. Inspired by Swiss confectionery, the sensory experience is anchored by a thick, decadent chocolate base that intermingles with creamy lactose and chewy nougat notes. Despite its 10% ABV, the alcohol provides a smooth, integrated warmth rather than a sharp bite. Deep layers of roasted malt offer glimpses of black coffee and dark fruit, effectively balancing the indulgent sweetness of the honey. Each sip is luxurious and coating, delivering a lingering finish of bittersweet cocoa and honeyed malt, perfectly capturing its duty-free inspiration.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (SRM 40+). Pours with a thick, dense, dark tan head that shows moderate retention. High viscosity is evident by the slow-forming legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity aroma dominated by bittersweet chocolate, cacao, and floral honey. Secondary notes of caramel and nougat provide a confectionery sweetness, supported by low dark fruit esters of prune and raisin. Hop aroma is very low, while the 10% ABV contributes a clean, gentle alcohol presence.

Taste. Bold initial impression of milk chocolate and sweet cream from the lactose. The mid-palate features rich Scottish honey and a distinct nougat character. Malt flavors of toasted bread and espresso provide a necessary roasted counterpoint to the sweetness. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as lower due to the heavy residual sugars and honey. The finish is long and warming with a lingering bittersweet cocoa and honeyed aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Full to very full-bodied with a chewy, velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, enhancing the luscious, mouth-coating sensation. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth is present, appropriate for a 10% ABV stout.
