This American IPA presents a modern, hybrid sensory profile, bridging the gap between tropical fruit intensity and a razor-sharp, crisp finish. Bright aromas of pineapple and stone fruit from Idaho 7 and Idaho 7 Cryo lead the charge, followed by resinous pine from Simcoe and citrusy grapefruit from Citra. A delicate floral lift from Centennial rounds out the bouquet. The use of pilsner malt provides a lean, crackery foundation that allows the vibrant hop character to dominate without interference. On the palate, it delivers the explosive fruit flavors of a hazy ale but finishes with the dry, snappy refreshment of a lager, leaving a clean, lingering bitterness.
Appearance. Light gold in color (5 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a medium-sized, persistent white head that leaves delicate lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of pineapple, passion fruit, and mango. Secondary notes of resinous pine and bright grapefruit pith are evident. Low, clean, grainy maltiness provides a neutral backdrop. Fermentation profile is extremely clean.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit and citrus zest. Medium-high hop bitterness is sharp and clean, cutting through the light pilsner malt base. Flavors of pine and lemon zest emerge mid-palate. The finish is very dry and crisp with a lingering, hoppy aftertaste of resin and fruit skin.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth but snappy texture. Medium-high carbonation provides a refreshing bite. Alcohol warmth is very low and well-integrated. No harshness or astringency.
