Cloudbusting is a lush Hazy IPA that captures a vibrant tropical spectrum through a masterful blend of Mosaic, Cashmere, and Idaho 7 hops. The sensory journey begins with an explosion of ripe mango, lemon zest, and mixed berries, underpinned by subtle piney depths. Brewed as an oat cream variant, it delivers a notably smooth, velvety texture and a gentle residual sweetness that balances the restrained bitterness. The presence of oats provides a substantive body, enhancing the juicy character of the New World hops. It finishes clean yet soft, leaving a lingering impression of sun-ripened stone fruit and creamy citrus.
Appearance. Pours a deep straw to light gold (5 SRM) with a heavy, opaque haze and a luminous shine. It is topped by a thick, meringue-like white head with high retention and delicate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics lead with Mosaic's signature blueberry and tropical notes, complemented by the lemon-lime and melon character of Cashmere. Idaho 7 adds layers of apricot and a whisper of resinous pine. The malt presents as a soft, bready and grainy backdrop with no toast or caramel character.
Taste. The palate is saturated with high flavors of pink grapefruit, passion fruit, and peach. The bitterness is moderate but soft, never harsh. A subtle, creamy sweetness from the oat cream addition enhances the fruity hop profile. The finish is off-dry with a lingering juicy aftertaste and clean fermentation character.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably smooth, creamy, and soft mouthfeel. Carbonation is moderate, providing a gentle lift. There is a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth. No astringency or raw grain texture.
