Overtone Brewing Co

This Triple IPA presents a dense, sensory-rich profile defined by its custard-like oat-heavy base. A massive dry-hop addition featuring Sabro Cryo and Sabro Incognito delivers unmistakable coconut and cream notes, harmonizing with the tropical punch of Citra Cryo and Azacca. The addition of lactose rounds out the palate, supporting vivid intensities of ripe mango, passion fruit, and bright citrus zest. Despite its high strength, the beer maintains a smooth, lush character where the sweetness of the lactose balances the heady hop saturation. It is a decadent, modern take on a Double IPA that prioritizes a velvety texture and intense tropical aromatics.

Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (5-7 SRM). Opaque, custard-like haze with a thick, persistent white head that leaves dense, soapy lacing.

Aroma. Intense, pungent hop aroma dominated by coconut, lime, and vanilla from the Sabro hops. Layered with high notes of passion fruit, mango, and zesty tangerine from the Citra and Azacca. A soft, sweet, doughy malt presence from the oats and lactose sits in the background, providing a creamy, milkshake-like olfactory foundation.

Taste. Initial impression is a bold tropical fruit explosion of mango and citrus. Distinctive coconut and creamy piña colada flavors emerge mid-palate. The sweetness is medium-high, bolstered by lactose and a heavy oat presence, which masks much of the 10% ABV. Bitterness is moderate but firm, providing enough structure to prevent the finish from being cloyingly sweet, though it remains soft and lingering with a tropical aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a silky, creamy texture. Moderate carbonation. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth that provides a smooth glow without being solventy. Very low astringency.
