Rockies/Alps Sky High presents a luminous, opaque golden glow characteristic of a Hazy IPA. The singular focus on Motueka hops delivers an intense bouquet of crushed lime zest, tropical papaya, and a distinct lemon-lime brightness. This vibrant citrus profile is buoyed by a soft, pillowy malt base that suggests light bread dough and fresh grain. On the palate, the juicy character remains front and center, offering a smooth, velvety texture and a restrained bitterness that highlights the hop-derived fruitiness. It finishes clean and refreshing with a lingering lime essence, exemplifying a modern, hop-forward profile with a remarkably soft and approachable structure.
Appearance. Straw to deep gold (3-6 SRM); opaque with a substantial haze and a luminous shine. Pours with a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head exhibiting high retention and leaving dense lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent lime zest, lemon, and tropical fruit notes from the Motueka. Background malt is neutral, lightly bready, and grainy. Clean fermentation profile with subtle fruity esters that complement the hop character.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with crushed lime, lemon, and soft tropical notes. Malt flavor is low to medium, providing a soft, bready foundation. Perceived bitterness is low to medium-low, well-integrated and never sharp. Finish is off-dry and smooth with a lingering juicy fruit aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate. No harshness or astringency; light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present without being solventy.
