This collaboration between Outer Range and Other Half delivers a vibrant Double IPA defined by an aggressive double dry-hopping of Citra and Nelson hops. The sensory profile is dominated by a brilliant interplay of tropical mango and bright lime from the Citra, set against the sophisticated white wine, gooseberry, and crushed grape notes characteristic of Nelson. At 8% ABV, the beer maintains high drinkability with a clean, supportive malt backbone that stays out of the way of the hop saturation. It finishes dry with a refined bitterness, capturing a modern mountain-meets-city intensity with a smooth, resinous punch.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-9 SRM) with a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head that leaves dense lacing. Modern clarity allows for a slight, soft haze from the extensive dry-hopping.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma. Prominent notes of grapefruit zest, lychee, and passion fruit from the Citra, layered with the complex crushed grape and gooseberry character of Nelson. Minimal grainy malt in the background with a clean fermentation profile and a hint of smooth alcohol.
Taste. Strong, complex hop flavors mirror the aroma with intense citrus and tropical fruit notes followed by a vinous, white-wine character. High hop bitterness is firm and clean, never harsh. Malt is soft and neutral, providing a light grainy base. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a lingering fruity and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, almost creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate-high. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present without being hot or solventy, and there is no hop-derived astringency.
